Lands End to John O'Groats Bike Ride
A supporter of Kington Lions, Moira Knowles, has cyced the 1,000 miles from Lands End in the far south-west of Cornwall right the way to John O'Groats at the tip of north-east Scotland, raising funds for the various wheel-related causes supported by Kington Lions.
Moira set out on Saturday 7th May 2011, and was accompanied by a group of around a dozen intrepid co-cyclists. The journey lasted 15 days, and the average daily journey was about 67 miles. There were no rest days during the journey.
Kington Lions will use any funds raised to support their fleet of wheelchairs, disabled buggies and wheeled-walking frames, which are loaned out to people in the Kington area who need such tools to keep their mobility.
